Heard of Quorn before? I know I haven't until I reached the shores of UK. It's a vegetarian meat replacement option that tastes somewhat like meat but it's really made from fungi and mushrooms. I saw Karen eating it with her English muffin during one of our lecture breaks and saw that it looked like the real thing acctually. Since Tesco was having sales on Quorn, I just thought I'd give it a try. So, I bought a pack of 6 Quorn sausages for a quid.
And finally, my attempt begins! But before that, I just wanna show my first time using my bento box. Hehe, Didn't put much effort in decorating it just yet because I was in a rush. Bento lunch = Philadelphia cheese spread sandwich with tomatoes.
Now.. For the Quorn attempt!
My Celeriac and Kimchi side dish. Saved these kimchi from the mould Dx

Turkey Rolls and Kimchi Wraps Plus Baked Eggs!
Today went a little unexpected for me, but mostly in a good way. Despite having only 4 hours of sleep yesterday, much thanks to the baboons next door. Inconsiderate and illiterate beings, can't help themselves after all they weren't properly educated.
This time, I can finally do some experimenting with my turkey mince. Been wanting to make a dumpling with it since before CNY, except without using the dumpling skin I'm gonna use seaweed! Hehe..And after watching Fermentation Family the kdrama centralizing on kimchi, it inspired me to make some kimchi wraps too!
And soooo I proudly present my dinner!
Oh! and I baked eggs too with leek and tomatoes~ These were fantastic! But I think because I added the soysauce, it caramelized at the bottom. It went dark brown at the bottom *shrugs* But still tastes amazing! xD

Japanese Bento!
My Bento box finally arrived today! Prompt on time as well. Thank you amazon.com.uk! It's about time I finally got one since I been eyeing ebay and amazon and other bento sites since before Christmas. Reluctant to get them since the delivery cost was no joke. Expensive! So I waited til now, finally there's free delivery! xD Just my luck!..
And for dinner, I finally opted for salmon! Steamed it covered in cabbage like a dumpling with ginger and soaked in white wine and white wine vinegar. Friggin' genius of me xD bottom layered with celeriac to give that fresh taste and topped it off with leeks and steam away!
As for my main, scallop noodles in dried prawns broth with celeriac and leeks added with seaweed. Blanched some brussles to see if they turned out bitter again or not. Okay, something was definitely off. Still slightly bit bitter..But it was easily forgiven with my amazing salmon and kimchi radish...
Next round will try this recipe for my salmon again, only I'll cut it up like a sushi roll! For presentation's sake xD

Redeeming Myself
After yesterday's slightly disappointing dinner, I'm going to redeem myself and make something that matches my skills. It's gotta be yummy! Sticking with the basics, since I thought I felt a lil' iffy in my throat and nose area again.
Here it is! Anchovies Porridge with Black Fungus and Celery topped with spring onions. Yum Yum~
As my side dish, I tossed some blanched brussles with black fungues in some oyster sauce and garlic. Unpleasantly, for the first time my brussles turned out bitter and tasted a lot like wasabi. Oh gosh~ where have I done wrong this time? Dx Nevertheless, the congee was yummy. At least..
