Sweet and Sour :)

For dinner, I made myself couscous. but this time I followed Jamie Oliver's instructions. "Place couscous in a bowl and pour boiling hot water just to cover it and the close the bowl" 15 glorious minutes later, COUSCOUS! :D So I was boiling white carrot soup with kei chi *wolfberries* and some anchovies because I ran out of bones to boil soups with. Boo. But anyway the soup was still sweet and jam-packed with protein goodness ;)
While that was boiling away, I made a sweet sour veggie side dish to go with my couscous. Using the pineapple I bought about a week ago, it was SWEEEEEET. So I used tomatoes, pineapples and broccoli. Then, seasoned it well with pepper and some salt, of course vinegar too. Sweet and sour veggies! :D

Chocolate Apple Muffin Tarts

And while waiting for my modernized apple muffin tarts to bake, I got on with Nadya's farewell gift. Definitely had to have something chocolate-inspired for that chocohalic. :D Again, with apples and, my treat..A piece of chocolate in each muffin at the centre :) Generous sprinkling of sugar. and TA-DA~

Would be nicer to have iced the muffins with cream. But I had to make sure it doesn't make a mess while I carried them to Starbucks. So, no frosting! D: Ah well. Next attempt xD

A Modern Twist to Apple Muffins

For today's picnic with my friends, I wanted to bake something with apples :) Apple muffins? Apple crumble? Nah~ Too boring. Crushed some biscuits with cheese and made that as the crust base then poured over the batter and mixed in some raisins along. And topped the mixture with APPLES. Last but NOT least, a generous sprinkling of sugar over the top to caramelize the apples. Ooh~ sensational :)

Going Creative in the Kitchen.

Having little to do today, stayed at home like a couch potato. Cleaned my desk of huge masses of papers, and organized my notes in order of modules. Not bad, I finally see my old clean room again. All that's left to do, is to concoct a nice dinner. Hmmm.. I was thinking EGGS! and since I have spinach and tomatoes, Baked Spinach and Tomato frittatas it is. Or as the British would call it, Quiches. *only mine is without the crust on* :D

And made some white carrot soup with korean bean paste and turkey meat :) Pretty simple slice of heaven. I miss daikon radishes so much! :)
