Bibimguksu and Meatballs

It's that time again. NOODLES! With what? Initially, wanted to make it with miso soup and seaweed with mushrooms. Y'know Japanese?
But I guess when I watch too many Korean dramas and got hooked on DBSK since age 15, I'm attached to Korean stuff. SO, with my piling up veggies in the pot I switched from Japan and back to Korean to make BibimGukSu! I didn't add kimchi, but I did use a lot of Gochujang *shows that my 1kg tub of korean chilli pepper paste didn't go to waste*
And I steamed some turkey meatballs with green peppers and coriander leaves. Oooh, once done I had such a magnificient broth, which explains the switch from making miso soup. I already HAVE soup. Concentrated with turkey and bell pepper goodness. Ooooh~ that hits the spot. :D

Bibimbap..Lazy Version..

I steamed brown rice, hoping it will turn to nice fluffy rice to be eaten with what I hoped to be Bibimbap. But no..At the end, because I used too little rice in a large pot *which was just ok for my 1 serving portion mind you*, the rice eventually dried up since my rice cooker was on WARM mode. SIGH~ I felt so utterly disappointed, I didn't even have the mood to take out my saucepan to make another side. I was LAZY. I just diced some raw vege and tossed in gochujang then WA-LAA~ The beauty of Han-sik(Korean cuisine)
I promised I'd show a picture of a whole microwaved egg right? Here it is! xD I left it in my mug and microwaved it..The beauty of the microwave. Hehe..I arranged the veggies nicely, but the egg covered it. Huhu..Ah well, sometimes food just has to look ordinary.

And as a special..Here's a photo of my homemade taufufah!!!! xD Glad to say it was an overall success, but it would have been better with a bit more agar-agar powder mixed in the soymilk. Ah well, it was good anyway and definitely will make it again another round.

Birthday Brownie Cups

It was Stacey's birthday, and since I had spare time in my hands this morning and of all my flatmates she's one of the decent ones that I like and can relate to. After all, she was the first UK friend I had since I moved in here. Her parents are such lovely people too *they remember my name, so that's a thumbs up* Very very good people. Such a rarity.
Here are my fudgy brownie cups! Made them with Thornton's chocolates, so it's extra special.

Brown Rice Proridge

Just like in my previous post, I attempted the brown rice porridge challenge but failed because brown rice cooks a LOT longer than white rice. *lesson learnt* And also I had to rush out after dinner, so didn't have time to make it a proper porridge. Turned into rice and soup at the end =.= tragic but still tastes pretty awesome. :) So, now I shall redeem this brown rice porridge attempt by cooking it properly. I made this since morning before I head out and then when I came back boiled it again! Still the consistency is not the same as white rice. But it's all good~ At least it was more cooked that the day before. xD
For my side I made some cucumber and bell pepper with kimchi and tossed with gochujang. Thought I needed something more, so I added a Quorn sausage to buff it up. Uhm...Love the stuff :)
